I don't know that he's spoken to anyone yet, but he says he's going to talk to the director of grad studies (my advisor), who put together the idea for these reading groups. What an asshat. Seriously. I considered preemptively contacting my advisor to explain, but I don't want to bring it to his attention and have it turn out that Olson never said anything to him. So I'm waiting to see if anything comes of it. I hope absolutely nothing, because I can't stand another one of these "concerned" discussions yet. Honestly, I didn't come to grad school to be treated like an erring high schooler. What does he want me to do? Serve a four hour detention for class-skipping?
