Failure is draining and debilitating. I got a 75 on my Greek quiz. Then I got to go have one of those "I'm concerned about your progress/fitness for this coursework" talks. Fun. Nothing like professional pity to wind up the work day. She's giving me the option of taking the class at the undergraduate level instead of the grad level, meaning I would get to skip some of the work. No thanks. Because then I would get to tell my advisor why.

I've been feeling for some time that any minute the grad committe was going to realize they made a mistake, that I'm subpar, and send me back to Iowa. I used to think I was just being paranoid.
